For a long time, we had dreamed of transforming our garden into a little corner of paradise—a place where we could relax and forget about the daily stress. Finally, this year, we decided to make that dream a reality by completely renovating our garden with a pool, turning it into a true tropical oasis.
We felt that our garden was in need of a major makeover. The pool was there, inviting us on hot days, but the surrounding landscape felt a bit bland and didn’t give us that sense of escape we longed for. So, we reached out to the landscape designers at Pellegrini Giardini to help us reimagine the space.
The first step was trusting their meticulous digital design, which quickly allowed us to visualize, through photorealistic renderings, our garden with a much more exotic look—lush plants, vibrant colors, and an atmosphere reminiscent of a tropical vacation.
They took great care in selecting the right plants, opting for tropical species that could thrive in our climate: Strelitzia, African Agapanthus, Phormium and colorful flowering plants like Ruelia mexicana e il Lotus maculatus. Each plant was carefully chosen to create a harmonious blend of colors and shapes, giving the sensation of being immersed in a lush jungle.
Another crucial element in the garden’s transformation was the flooring. We chose a natural Ipé wood surface, which blends perfectly with the surroundings, contributing to that warm and inviting tropical vibe. The wood, with its unique grain and tone, adds a sense of continuity between the outdoor spaces and nature, creating a harmonious link between the greenery of the plants and the blue of the pool. Moreover, using a natural material like this adds a touch of authenticity to the garden, making it not only beautiful to look at but also a pleasure to experience.
The pool has always been the focal point of the garden, and with the transformation, it became even more central—offering the perfect spot to cool off and have fun, while the natural wood flooring creates a welcoming space where you can walk barefoot and feel in tune with nature. We wanted it to become a true tropical gem, surrounded by lush vegetation, with the sea as a backdrop.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this transformation has been the joy of sharing my garden with friends and family. Hosting parties in this space has become a true delight. Summer evenings are now filled with laughter, music, and conversations under the stars, surrounded by the beauty of the tropical garden. The soft lighting among the plants adds a magical touch, making every gathering an unforgettable experience.
