He was born in Acireale on January 2, 1959; he lives and works in Chivasso. His artistic activity, from 1979 to today, has developed through the use of different means of expression: theater, cinema, television, sculpture. In 1988 he wrote and directed the video Malati, selected for Italy, at the 39th Internationale Filmfestspiele – Video Fest 1989 in Berlin. Since 1994 his works have been exhibited in several cities including Turin, Milan, Livorno, Nice, New York, Florence, San Francisco, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Rome, Paris, Perugia, Bilbao, Ghent, and Madrid, and are present in various public and private collections. In 2002 his work “Angels- Evolution of the Species” , a series of 12 large terracotta sculptures (over 2 meters high), became part of the collection of the Museo de los Angeles – Contemporary Art of Lucia Bosè in Turegano – Segovia (Spain). In 2006 he created three large Archangels in terracotta and bronze, Gabriele, Raffaele and Michele, which were exhibited at Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome, as part of the “Angels and Angels” project. Also in 2006 the Tomàs y Valiente Cultural Center hosted his exhibition “Pressures”, alongside the one dedicated to Joan Mirò: “Las maravillas”. In 2008 he exhibited, in national preview on behalf of the Lazio Region in Sperlonga, “L’esercito del Piccolo Pesce” (The Army of the Little Fish). In the same year, the complete installation of the work, twelve large sculptures in white terracotta and resin, was presented at the 47th International Ceramics Exhibition in Castellamonte. In January 2010, in Fuenlabrada – Madrid, a monumental fountain of 28 meters made by the artist with 18 large bronze fish and 80 plates made of cast glass was inaugurated. In April 2011 the sculpture “The gift of the Fox” was acquired by the Museum of the French city of Castries and he was invited by the Director of the Italian Pavilion, Vittorio Sgarbi, to participate in the 54th Venice – Piedmont Biennial. In 2012 he created the Adriatic International Sport fishing Tournament Trophy in cast glass. In 2014 the City of Castellamonte (TO ) gave him honorary citizenship for artistic merit. As it had done for Umberto Mastroianni, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Ugo Nespolo before him. He took part as an artist of the gallery Fyr Navan Global Group Florence – Shanghai, in the project Artour_o il Must with solo exhibitions in Merida (Spain) in 2014, in Florence and Prague in 2015.
