After purchasing our property, a wonderful brick farmhouse with a garden near the medieval village of Altidona, we needed to completely renovate the green areas. The situation was not ideal as nature had taken over. We contacted the landscapers at Pellegrini Giardini after hearing some positive feedback from loyal customers.
The old embankment at the entrance of the property was reinforced with a wooden retaining wall and planted with low-maintenance, drought-resistant native shrubs. The gravel path leading to our house was adorned with flowering bushes of a special variety of Oleanders (Nerium oleander) known for their intense color. The entire green area around the structure was transformed into an outdoor living space, outlined by naturally styled yet well-maintained flower beds.
The pergola attached to the structure serves as an outdoor dining area with a panoramic view of the ancient village of Altidona and the sea. Nearby, a wooden gazebo decorated with fragrant Wisteria (Wisteria sinensis) houses the kitchen area with a wood-burning oven.
The natural slopes of the land were used to create a lower level for the relaxation area, accessed by a white travertine staircase designed and built by the skilled artisans at Pellegrini Giardini. Two Cypresses (Cupressus sempervirens Bolgheri) and lush, colorful bushes surround and highlight the staircase.
From the pedestrian path at the entrance of the farmhouse, you can already see the 70 m² natural swimming pool we chose for its main feature: zero environmental impact. It is built entirely without reinforced concrete, including all the perimeter flooring.
Together with the landscape architects at Pellegrini Giardini, we designed the shape and size of the water body to harmonize perfectly with the surrounding nature—and we succeeded! A splendid camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) provides a shaded area beside the pool, offering relief from the summer heat.
We handpicked all the trees and bushes in the garden from the extensive Pellegrini nurseries in Civitanova Marche.
